Aubrey Plaza Would Love To Play Catwoman In A Film

Now that the Robert Pattinson casting as Bruce Wayne aka Batman for Matt Reeves’ Batman films, we can move on to speculate about all the other aspects of the film, like who we think we want to play the villains. It’s been reported that the possible villains for the film could be The Riddler, Penguin, Firefly and Catwoman. Turns out that one of my favorite actresses has always wanted to take on the role of Selina Kyle if possible.

While promoting her latest film Child’s Play which debuts this weekend, Aubrey Plaza briefly talked about her desire to play Catwoman in a film when Colbert brought it up near the end of the interview. Here is what she had to say about the matter:

“Okay, I’ve said that in like a couple interviews because… I get asked questions like, ‘If you were a superhero, which one would you want to be?’ And I just always think of Catwoman because I just love that character and I love the Catwoman movie. The Halle Berry one. But it’s not something I think about every day… I’m just not gonna even try to get that part. There’s no way in Hell they’re gonna cast me.”

Trying to help Plaza with her audition to play Catwoman, Colbert handed her a pair of cat ears to which the actress in very Plaza fashion started making cat noises and even jumped on the host’s desk and licked his face. Also real quick, did she really say that she liked Halle Berry’s Catwoman film? You can check out the clip above!

Currently the details for Reeves’ Batman film are under wraps, but it is said to possibly be a trilogy that will focus more on Batman’s detective skills. It is rumored to start production early next year, so they still have plenty of time to cast the Dark Knight’s villains.

Would you like to see Plaza take on the role of Selina Kyle? If not who is your first choice for the role? Let us know in the comment section below!

Plaza stars in Orion Pictures’ Child’s Play which terrorizes theaters this Friday, June 21st.
