Today we are covering everything we learned about Avengers: Doomsday from CinemaCon yesterday including a description of the trailer shown. We will also discuss the news about Endgame getting a re-release with new scenes added and discussing the current spoiler situation for the film. We also have an image for Doctor Doom taken from the event meaning it is official imagery. Though we have shared it unofficially before, so you’ll find it familiar. Check it out,

Let’s begin with the obvious one, which is a trailer description from those in attendance at CinemaCon. Every outlet in attendance has their own version of the description up already, including all the trades. I chose Variety, because why not?
Before we start, it was confirmed that Cassie Lang was in the trailer, which means Kathryn Newton is also part of the cast. I’ll get into what big things the trailer told us later in this piece.
Doomsday Trailer Description
‘The trailer starts with a look at Downey Jr.’s green-hooded, metal-faced Doctor Doom as he prepares to invade the multiverse. There’s a shot of Professor Xavier (Patrick Stewart) looking out his X-Mansion’s window as a bright flash of light is outside, signaling trouble. It’s a flood of crossovers from there: Gambit (Channing Tatum) and Shang-Chi (Simu Liu) battle; Mystique (Rebecca Romijn) transforms into Yelena Belova, resulting in a Florence Pugh vs. Florence Pugh fight; and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Doom face off, but Doom catches Thor’s magical hammer Mjolnir with his bare hands.’
‘The biggest moment comes when Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers makes his triumphant return and reunites with Thor. The Asgardian is shocked at his Avengers teammate’s arrival — given that Cap had gone back in time to grow old with his sweetheart Peggy Carter in “Endgame” (and passed down the mantle to Sam Wilson). It’s still unclear how Cap is back, but he’s clearly still worthy enough to pick up Thor’s hammer, just like he did during the Thanos battle in “Endgame.”’

‘Similar to how “Infinity War” and “Endgame” brought together the Guardians of the Galaxy, the Wakandans and the Avengers, “Doomsday” intermixes Earth’s Mightiest Heroes with the X-Men, the Fantastic Four and the Thunderbolts. After the Fantastic Four’s ship crossed into the MCU in the post-credits scene of “Thunderbolts,” we finally see Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch and Thing meeting the so-called New Avengers (consisting of Bucky Barnes, Yelena Belova, Sentry, Ghost, Red Guardian and U.S. Agent). There’s also a tense showdown between Black Panther’s Wakandan forces and Namor’s underwater Talokans after the two armies clashed in “Wakanda Forever.”’
‘All the heroes (and several former villains) must put aside their differences and join forces to take down Doctor Doom. Downey Jr., who narrates some of the trailer in a vaguely Eastern European accent, took the stage with Evans to play the trailer twice for the packed auditorium.’
So, Doom has an Eastern European accent. Immediate thought, great, but I hear the buzz from the audience wasn’t great on that accent.
What Did We Learn?
Who knows when we will get to see this? Probably exclusively before Mando and Grogu given how box office expectations are going for that film. So what does it tell us, when we relate this to rumors?
There are always a ton of plot summaries that appear online, most of them fake. However. sometimes where the first trailer drops, we are able to see which ones are real and which are fake. Well, this is no different and we have learned that one plot summary you can find online is pretty much nailed on to be correct and was from a test screening. That means we may start to get a lot of major spoilers being dropped by fans online, far too early.
My policy is once the plot is confirmed, I stop reporting on it. Ergo, any rumors that come out now which seem to confirm any of that plot are probably just thinly disguised spoilers from insiders. I.e. expect Doomsday stories to be a bit more official only from this point out. Or at least not covering plot details.
What I will say, having read the leaked plot some time ago… Doctor Doom will make Thanos look like a first level boss to his final boss. Of this you should have no doubt.
Avengers: Endgame
It was also announced that Avengers: Endgame is getting a re-release in September of this year. This will be the first showcase of the new Infinity Vision tech Disney are promoting. You can see details in the post below. However, most notably it was announced that Endgame will have newly filmed scenes added and some surprises.
Most in the industry believe it will be some things added to the very end of Endgame which will help tie it up to where the story of Doomsday begins. As for the surprises, I’d assume a new trailer for Doomsday attached at the end, or something like that.
Just announced at #CinemaCon:

What do you think of the Avengers: Doomsday trailer description and what we’ve learned from that description? Would you see Endgame again for the new scenes added to the end? Leave any thoughts below.
