As epic and fulfilling as Avengers: Endgame was, the film extracted a heavy toll. That toll being the loss of the one Tony Stark, also knon as Iron man. Yep, if you haven’t seen that film you should have heeded the spoiler warning above, because now you know the death of Tony Stark is one of the bigger spoilers of the film.
Co-director Anthony Russo recently spoke with The Hollywood Reporter and talked how they approached directing Robert Downey Jr., the man who was at the birth of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and him and his character Iron Man, being a huge part of the MCU’s success. You can check out what Anthony Russo had to say down below.
“Joe and I are really performer-oriented. We love actors. And a large part of our process is figuring out how we bring actors most alive in their roles and how we give them autonomy and freedom to sort of play and go to very interesting places. That’s a big part of our creative process and our structural director process. Downey is the most wonderful collaborator. He’s a really brilliant filmmaker in his own right and he brings a tremendous amount of energy to the process. The way we direct him is by having very engaged and thorough creative discussions about what our vision for the movie is, about what we want to do with the character. He’s very helpful in terms of helping fill those ideas out.”

Tony Stark’s passing helps to signify a new era in the MCU, but his exit couldn’t have been more epic, wearing the infinity gauntlet, and using it to set things right, though the incredible power he wielded was too much for a human, and Tony Stark passed on with Pepper Potts at his side.
