Some time ago we published a rumor that Marvel’s The Black Knight could be coming into the MCU at some point farther down the line, and that if he does, then it could be involved with the Quantum Realm somehow. The Quantum Realm explored first in Ant-Man is most fans popular opinion of how the Avengers will travel through time to undo Thanos Decimation in Avengers: Infinity War.

Well, now we have another hint that there is something in this and it comes from Marvel directly. Before MCU movies drop Marvel releases very cheap comic reprints of classic stories that usually somehow tie into the movie or a character’s source, these are called the True Believers line of comics. Well, there are going to be three comics released to coincide with Avengers: Endgame and one of them is actually called Endgame. This particular comic features the Avengers using time travel and also features The Black Knight.

Now, ok, perhaps that’s a coincidence and it was chosen instead for the name Endgame and the time travel plot. However the other two comics apparently also feature appearances in some way from The Black Knight. Now, this is the chatter I am hearing from fans online, as I don’t have the comic knowledge to know what issues certain characters appeared in. But after hearing this on social media and doing some research I found two articles online talking about this from different angles, one from MCU Cosmic and one from CBM.

Neither of these articles seems to be referencing the same comic book as the CBM article references Avengers #71 and the MCU Cosmic article mentions Avengers #343. What I am being told as it that both these are accurate, one featuring the Avengers, time travel and the first time The Black Knight joins the Avengers. The other features the start of a storyline called ‘The Gatherers’ which is about the Avengers recruiting members from throughout time and guess what, also features The Black Knight.

Now, this could be Marvel playing with us a little, because they are getting very meta these days with their little Easter eggs and clues, just look at the latest trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home for evidence of that. However, I think we’d all be pretty shocked if at this point Avengers: Endgame didn’t feature time travel, so there’s no big surprise there. But are they also hinting that as the Avengers travel through the Quantum Realm, they are also going to pick up a new ally along the way? Or, will something they do in there set up the possibility of The Black Knight and others making their way into the MCU further down the line?

It’s very intriguing and gives us some food for thought if nothing else whilst we wait those last few months for the blockbuster sequel to arrive.
