Legendary filmmaker Ron Howard’s next film will be a Netflix production.
The streaming service will spend $45 million to bring Howard’s next film, Hillbilly Elegy, to life. Imagine Entertainment, which is Howard’s production company with producer Brian Grazer, began development on the film back in 2017. The film will be based on the best-selling memoir of the same name written by J.D. Vance. Variety describes the story below:
Vance’s book recaps growing up in the Rust Belt and the everyday struggles of America’s white working class as they navigate through drug addiction, and social and economic challenges.
