While Hulk and Thor became best friends in Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War will bring Hulk back into the fold with the other heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Having been absent from Captain America: Civil War due to being the Grandmaster’s champion during his time on the planet Sakaar, Hulk has now seen things, and he knows things, things that he will try to convey to his fellow Avengers. The actor who plays Hulk, Mark Ruffalo, recently spoke with Screen Rant, and talked about Hulk’s place in Avengers: Infinity War:
“Banner knows more about Thanos than probably anybody and he’s really trying to impress on everybody how dangerous he is. It’s a little bit of a Chicken Little (scenario). He comes in screaming bloody murder… He’s seen what damage he can cause and how powerful he is and the entire group is in disarray so he’s also getting caught up on what’s happened here and is trying to get them to transcend their differences and impress upon them how much danger they’re actually facing.”
Once all the reunions are over, and explanations are given, Bruce Banner will have a mission, to convince the other Avengers just how powerful Thanos is and make them realize they’ve never faced an enemy like this before. Hopefully, the team will take heed to Banner’s words and realize that Loki and Ultron were very small fish compared to Thanos. Though, after Thanos makes his presence known, I imagine when the Avengers see his power first hand, it won’t take them long to get on board.
Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters April 27.
