Bad Boys for Life has yet to hit theaters, but experts are already expecting it to do fairly well. Of course, one big reason is the fact that it’s being fairly well received by critics. Sure, it’s been a long time since we saw these two characters on the big screen, but history has proven that audiences don’t tend to care if the story isn’t fun to watch. As a result of all of this, it sounds like the studio is moving forward with the next obvious step.
According to THR, Sony Pictures is preparing to start development on a fourth film. This first step includes the hiring of Chris Bremner, Bad Boys for Life scribe, to take on the fourth movie.

With this in mind, you can expect, if all goes well, that the sequel will happen fairly soon. So another 15-year-plus-gap isn’t likely. If it were to happen, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence would likely be expected to reprise their roles once again. This is great news, as for the longest time, it seemed as though this franchise was prepping a baton-passing entry.
