Bad Boys For Life Directors Have Met With Marvel About A Potential Project

Marvel Studios are always on the lookout for the hottest new directors, writers, and actors for their movies. As those who have been successful move on to other projects, Marvel looks for the next wave to carry the MCU forward. One set of creatives has definitely caught their eye, that of Bad Boys For Life directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah.

Bad Boys For Life has been very well received by audiences, and that has not gone unnoticed by Marvel. The directors caught up with ComicBook.com and they told them about some tentative steps taken by Marvel.

“Well there’s nothing concrete. They just met us,” said El Arbi. “They said they liked the movie and they just told us, ‘Yo, what do you wanna do? Let’s find something to work together on.’ So there’s nothing really planned yet, it was just like a meeting. But yeah, we’ll see if we find something cool. Now with Disney+ it has all evolved so much that there’s so much you can do. You can do a movie or you can do a TV show. And we’ve been so busy with Bad Boys that we’ve not explored everything yet. So what we’re going to do now, me and Bilall, is we’re going to check out all they got and we’d love to find something to work with them on, but it’s not yet clear what that would be.”

This is exactly what Marvel tends to do when searching for new talent. They reach out to someone who has caught their attention, then explore what they’d be interested in and what they are passionate about. Sometimes it leads to viable projects, sometimes it does not. Kevin Feige has spoken about their process a few times already. They watch movies and the people that are doing something interesting, or new are then approached to sound out their enthusiasm for Marvel projects.

So whilst we may never see El Arbi and Fallah directing an MCU movie or show, it really depends on what they’d do if given the chance. Also whether any ideas they have, match with Feige’s own overall plans. Watch this space I guess?
