The Baldur’s Gate series is one of the most successful franchises for Dungeons & Dragons’ video game adaptation. The next installment of the long-awaited RPG video game Baldur’s Gate 3 is now less than a month away.
Under a new developer of Larian Studios, the video game company hoped to revive the original franchise that had its last video game with Baldur’s Gate: Throne of Bhaal back in 2001. Yes, we know this franchise has had other offshoots since then.
Here is the official story description of the game:
Abducted, infected, lost. You are turning into a monster, but as the corruption inside you grows, so does your power. That power may help you to survive, but there will be a price to pay, and more than any ability, the bonds of trust that you build within your party could be your greatest strength. Caught in a conflict between devils, deities, and sinister otherworldly forces, you will determine the fate of the Forgotten Realms together.

This RPG game is set with a 5e D&D ruleset with its evolved turn-based combat. It allows up to four players for an online multiplayer campaign.
The series is set in the Forgotten Realms (same as the recent D&D film) of the Dungeons & Dragons setting. The very first game was launched by BioWare back in 1998 to plenty of fanfare and success. It spawned several other games and offshoots, including the Dark Alliance video game franchise.
Baldur’s Gate 3 will be available for the PC (Steam and GOG) and GeForce on August 3rd, with a launch on PlayStation 5 a month later on September 6.
