Almost Home: Life After Incarceration

Crime does pay. Even after incarceration, people will continue paying for their actions and never return to normal lives. Thus, many return to the life of crime to survive.

In Almost Home: Life After Incarceration documentary, the film explores the Transitions program offered by Palomar Community College in San Diego that helps formerly incarcerated inmates to adjust and transition back into the workforce and education despite their criminal histories and backgrounds.

Here is the synopsis of Almost Home: Life After Incarceration:

In the United States, more than 600,000 people return home from incarceration each year, often with little support. For people who live in the shadows of their criminal records, overcoming the extensive legal restrictions and social stigmas is a daunting task. This unique film follows formerly incarcerated students enrolled in an innovative program at a community college. Their inspiring stories illustrate how education and support can transform lives, open doors to new careers, heal trauma, and uplift entire families and communities.
