No one is truly dead in the TRANSFORMERS universe. If that wasn’t already apparent by the fact that Barricade has already been killed and brought back to life, then perhaps this current incarnation of Barricade in the upcoming film TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT will be proof enough.

Paramount Pictures continues their rollout of the characters with the reveal of this new incarnation of the intimidating Barricade — though fans may not even recognize him by his new design.

If you compare this new image to the featured image at the top of the page, you’ll notice that this Barricade appears to be Barricade in name only. Gone are the spikes and muted color design. This particular incarnation of the character hass more color, more rounded features, and brass knuckles that read PROTECT and SERVE, likely a play on the cop motto. However, on his elbows, he has similar metal brands that read PUNISH and ENSLAVE.

Admittedly, with the exception of the elbow brands, all these changes only succeed in making the bot even less intimidating than he was before — and even those brands can be perceived as more of a cheesy joke than anything.
