Be Quiet Because Netflix’s The Silence Is Coming April 12

The synopsis is straightforward – A family struggles to survive after deadly creatures that hunt by sound invade the planet. Heard it all before, right? Well, friends, Netflix has debuted the first trailer for The Silence. Ring the bell for all the A Quiet Place comparisons. Both films utilize a plot device that warrants people in the film to not make a sound less they alert some monster. Whereas A Quiet Place featured some creatures that would have looked at home in a Gears of War game, being gunned down by Marcus Phoenix.

The Silence features some funky ass bat like creatures. I do wonder just how these intergalactic bats made it to earth, and survived entry into the atmosphere. One thing’s for sure, these creatures sure have the Pitch Black look down pact. My guess is sonar will factor into how these nasties locate their next man meal. Watch the trailer above if you somehow made it this far without doing so!

The Silence is based on the novel of the same name, written by Tim Lebbon and published in 2015. So, all of you ready to shout “A Quiet Place Knockoff” can rest assured that this idea was out there in some form prior to the 2018 release of A Quiet Place.

If your keen to give it a shot, you won’t have long to wait as The Silence will debut on Netflix April 12. Me thinks whether this film will inspire a ton of memes like Netflix’s Birdbox. Can’t wait to see what the viewers come up with to spoof scenes. Here comes the mission to raid the fridge at night without alerting the bats, or whatever they are going to be called.
