Fortnite seems to have taken the video game world by storm in the last year. Avengers: Infinity War is taking the movie world by storm right now. There’s only one thing to do, mash up!

EW reveals that Thanos, the villain of Avengers: Infinity War, will drop into Fortnite‘s Battle Royale mode for a limited time starting Tuesday, May 8.

The limited time mode will play like a normal Battle Royale game with one major difference. Somewhere on the map, there will be an Infinity Gauntlet, which already has all six Infinity Stones attached to it. Players who find and use the Infinity Gauntlet will transform into Thanos himself and be able to wield the god-like powers that the transformation entails.

It turns out that Avengers: Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo are big fans of Epic’s genre-defining shooter. They called Epic’s worldwide creative director Donald Mustard and the crossover event grew from there.

Joe Russo said:

“Over the past few months, while we were editing Infinity War, we’d take breaks to hop on and get in a few games. And then we started thinking, how cool would it be to have some kind of Avengers–Fortnite mashup? So we stalked Donald.”

Fortnite isn’t a game I have yet tried for myself, but I know how popular it is with all the kids I know right now.

Any Fortnite players here excited for this mash-up event? Let us know in the comments below.
