Beetlejuice Is Back In New Trailer!

The sequel to the beloved cult classic Beetlejuice is almost here! Titled Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, this new installment brings together the legendary creative forces of Oscar-nominated director Tim Burton and Oscar nominee Michael Keaton, who reprises his iconic role as the mischievous demon Beetlejuice.

Keaton isn’t the only familiar face returning to the screen. Joining him are Oscar nominee Winona Ryder, known for her roles in Stranger Things and Little Women, who returns as Lydia Deetz, and two-time Emmy winner Catherine O’Hara, celebrated for her performances in Schitt$ Creek and The Nightmare Before Christmas, who will once again play Delia Deetz. The film also boasts an exciting array of new talent, including Justin Theroux (Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi, The Leftovers), Monica Bellucci (Spectre, The Matrix series), and Arthur Conti (House of the Dragon) making his feature film debut. Emmy nominee Jenna Ortega (Wednesday, Scream VI) steps into the role of Lydia’s daughter, Astrid, while Oscar nominee Willem Dafoe (Poor Things, At Eternity’s Gate) rounds out the stellar cast.

The story unfolds after an unexpected family tragedy forces three generations of the Deetz family to return to their home in Winter River. Lydia’s life is thrown into disarray when her rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid, stumbles upon the mysterious model of the town hidden in the attic. When the portal to the Afterlife is accidentally opened, chaos ensues, threatening both realms. As trouble brews, the inevitable occurs – someone says Beetlejuice’s name three times, summoning the notorious demon to wreak his unique brand of havoc.

Tim Burton directs from a screenplay by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar (Wednesday), with the story by Gough, Millar, and Seth Grahame-Smith (The LEGO® Batman Movie), based on characters created by Michael McDowell and Larry Wilson. The film’s production team includes Burton, Marc Toberoff, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, and Tommy Harper as producers, with Sara Desmond, Katterli Frauenfelder, Gough, Millar, Wilson, Laurence Senelick, and Brad Pitt as executive producers.

Behind the scenes the film features the work of director of photography Haris Zambarloukos (Meg 2: The Trench, Murder on the Orient Express), production designer Mark Scruton (Wednesday), editor Jay Prychidny (Wednesday), Oscar-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood (Alice in Wonderland, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street), and Oscar-winning creature effects and special makeup FX creative supervisor Neal Scanlan (Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory). BAFTA-winning Visual Effects Supervisor Angus Bickerton (House of the Dragon, Dark Shadows), Oscar-nominated composer Danny Elfman (Big Fish, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Batman), and Oscar-winning hair and makeup designer Christine Blundell (Topsy-Turvy) further enhance the film’s extraordinary visuals and music.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice will be released exclusively in theaters and IMAX on September 6, 2024, in North America, with international releases starting on September 4, 2024. Warner Bros. Pictures will distribute the film worldwide.

Fans of the original Beetlejuice and new audiences alike can look forward to another wild ride through the afterlife, filled with Tim Burton’s signature gothic charm and Michael Keaton’s unforgettable performance. Mark your calendars for what promises to be a cinematic event of the year!
