The classic war film All Quiet on the Western Front set a very high bar for films in storytelling and trench warfare. With Before Dawn, Jordan Prince-Wright manages to create a realistic and intense war film that pits the horrors of World War I in the mud, trench, and horror.
The film stars Levi Miller (Pan, Red Dog: True Blue), Travis Jeffery (Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, Unbroken), Myles Pollard (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, McLeod’s Daughters), Tim Franklin (Home and Away), Jordan Dulieu (Everything in Between, One Night), and introducing Peter Sullivan (Fading Numbers), with Ed Oxenbould (The Visit, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day) and Stephen Peacocke (Hercules, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot).
Jordon Prince-Wright directed the film based on the screenplay written by Jarrad Russell based on the story and characters from Prince-Wright.
Here is the official synopsis for Before Dawn:
After leaving his family’s sheep farm in the Australian outback, a young man joins his countrymen on the western front of World War I with hopes of helping expedite an end to the bloody conflict. But as war rages on, he is forced to grapple with the brutal realities of trench warfare, including a near-constant battle to keep himself alive—without leaving another man behind.
