El Chicano: Director Ben Hernandez Bray and Producer Joe Carnahan on Bringing First Latino Superhero On Screen

It’s about time.

The first Latino superhero movie on the big screen is with El Chicano in theaters this weekend.

The film follows a police detective, who is caught between the law and his past. He eventually becomes a masked street legend El Chicano to defend his neighborhood and avenge his brother’s death.

El Chicano stars Raul Castillo, Jose Pablo Cantillo, George Lopez, Aimee Garcia, David Castaneda, Mr. Criminal and Armida Lopez. It is written and directed by Ben Hernandez Bray.

LRM Online sat down exclusively with director Ben Hernandez Bray and producer Joe Carnahan to discuss about the film. We talked about the origination of the plot and the all-Latino cast for the film.
