Besson is Back With Latest Shoot Em Up – Anna

Luc Besson has a thing for girls and guns. At least he can shoot the action. Remember way back when Leon The Professional squared off against a zonked out of his mind pill popping Gary Oldman who vengefully screamed: “Get me, everyone!” Well, I am pleased to inform you Mr. Besson is back, and his latest film looks to be another revenge fueled shoot-em-up.

Check out the trailer for Anna in all its blazing glory above. This is Besson’s first theatrical release since his vastly underrated Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets disappointed at the box office. Not that it fazed Besson who saw the silver lining and commented in a /Film interview the following:

“The second time is the best. It’s really the best because the film is so much of shards. When you’re watching sci-fi today, driven 90 percent by Marvel and DC Comics, there’s feeling, there’s a pattern, there’s a thing, and then we get used to it.”

I completely concur.

Anna stars Valerian’s Sasha Luss. Originally slated to be released in 2018, but was put on hold after several allegations of sexual misconduct were brought against Besson.

A brief synopsis online details the film as follows – Beneath Anna Poliatova’s striking beauty lies a secret that will unleash her indelible strength and skill to become one of the world’s most feared government assassins.

In addition to Sasha Luss, Anna stars The Nutcracker and the Four Realms Helen Mirren, Dracula Untold’s Luke Evans, and The Dark Knight’s Cilian Murphy.
