‘BLACK MIRROR’ Locks Down ’10 CLOVERFIELD LANE’ Director to Helm Episode for Netflix

BLACK MIRROR is a British anthology series that’s made quite a splash. In the vein of, say, like THE TWILIGHT ZONE, each episode takes place in some odd, speculative science-fiction settings. The series only lasted on the British airwaves for two seasons, or seven episodes, but last year was picked up by Netflix for twelve more episodes.

Netflix has already locked down some great directorial talent for the series with the likes of Joe Wright (ATONEMENT, HANNA) and Jacob Verbruggen (HOUSE OF CARDS) — not to mention the acting talents of Bryce Dallas Howard. Now Deadline is reporting that they’ve secured Dan Trachtenberg for an episode of the anthology.

For those who don’t recognize the director by name, he’s the relatively new talent who is hot off the success of 10 CLOVERFIELD LANE, another film that was very much in the spirit of horror anthologies. In addition to that J.J. Abrams-produced film, which has gone on to make over $100 million on a $15 million budget, Trachtenberg is also well known for his fan short of the game PORTAL. If you’ve somehow managed to miss that, now’s the time to check it out!

What do you think of Trachtenberg joining the techno-paranoia anthology series? Let us know your thoughts down below!
