Black Panther was already doing pretty darn well for itself. When last we heard, the Wakanda-set superhero flick was already beating out Captain America: Civil War in terms of advance ticket sales, but it looks like it’s just broken another big record in terms of early sales.

According to Deadline, the Marvel Studios movie has just become Fandango’s top-selling superhero film of all time. This means that it’s even beaten the advance sales of the hotly-anticipated Batman v Superman film back in 2016.

What could be the reason for this? Well, for starters, the trailers make the movie look like a damn good time in theaters. Plus, with its emphasis on a mostly non-white cast, it has the potential to appeal greater to the African American demographic, which tends to support movies featuring black leads in droves.

The real capper seemed to be when social media reactions for Black Panther hit. Not only did the film look cool, have a diverse cast, and further the MCU, but it was also a damn good movie. All of this seems to be coming together in one huge, successful stew that most studios dream of.

When we last heard, the film was tracking around $120M for its opening weekend, with the four-day weekend perhaps even peaking at $150M.

Are you excited to see Black Panther having this amount of success? What do you think the movie will open at? Let us know your guesses down below!
