New Barside Buzz says Blade will make his debut in Secret Wars before going onto have a big role in the Midnight Sons movie. Unless something bug has changed we don’t know about, we have to assume that means Mahershala Ali’s version of Blade. The Blade solo movie seems in development hell. We had heard previous rumors that he would now make his debut in a planned Midnight Sons team-up movie post-Secret Wars.
The information comes from Daniel RPK on Patreon who says that whilst Blade has a big role in the Midnight Sons movie, it won’t be his debut. Daniel says he’s heard that debut will happen within Avengers: Secret Wars, though nothing else. It could be a small cameo to a decent sized part for all we know at this stage, if of course the rumor is true?

I have absolutley no doubt Blade is in Midnight Sons, but that movie hasn’t gone into production yet. One also has to question whether Ali is getting too old for this role given how long it has taken to produce anything since he agreed? I don’t think so, but some fans seem to think it should be someone younger and probably cheaper.
As for Secret Wars, who knows? We have very little to go on in terms of who will feature in that film. We’ve shared rumors that Tom Holland, who’s absent from Doomsday will feature alongside probably Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Hugh Jackman. However, we don’t know if that is still the case and there could be others to add in. I guess we can most likely confirm RDJ’s Doctor Doom if nothing else.
