Blu-Ray Review: ‘Modern Family Fifth Season’

The lovable dysfunctional family is back for the fifth season on Blu-ray.

From Fox Home Entertainment, this season has one of the biggest episodes with the wedding between Mitchell Pritchett and Cameron Tucker. The 24 episode season also includes great episodes of the family traveling to Australia and Las Vegas.

No doubt this Emmy-winning comedy series hasn’t lost its touch after all these years. The cast maintains a terrific comedic chemistry and the season features good guest appearances with Adam DeVine, Nathan Lane, Fred Ward, Fred Armisen, Patton Oswalt, Stephen Merchant and many others.

The show still maintains a lot of the laugh-out-loud moments, particular with the family members’ direct commentaries to the cameras. As the children growing older, there’s still plenty of involvement between the younger and older cast members. Despite the seemingly mixed personalities and characters in the family, they always seem to provide a touching conclusion of each episode in the name of “family.”

The Blu-ray and DVD have plenty of bonuses with particular interest on the behind-the-scenes look of the Australia, Las Vegas and the wedding episode. Other features on the package also included gag reels and deleted/extended scenes. And as a great bonus, there’s a short feature on a day on set with actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson. It makes you wish they did it with all the cast members.

So for fans of “Modern Family,” there’s no disappointment with the fifth season Blu-ray/DVD package. Go ahead and binge watch with delight.

“Modern Family” season five is already currently available on Blu-ray, DVD and digital downloads.
