I don’t know too many people that have not heard of Clifford the Big Red Dog. The reason being is that a lot of us remember growing up with the books from Scholastic (he is also their mascot). It was such a flex to sometimes get lucky enough to have your parents order you books from the classic order form, which sometimes included Clifford.
What you may not know is just how far back the books go. This children’s series goes back to the early ‘60s. Clifford the Big Red Dog is written by Norman Bridwell. To pay honor to the book series where Clifford would jump into our imaginations, Paramount Pictures has provided us with this LRM EXCLUSIVE Featurette of the cast of the new feature film titled, “Book To Screen”. Here is the synopsis for Paramount Pictures’ Clifford the Big Red Dog
When middle-schooler Emily Elizabeth (Darby Camp) meets a magical animal rescuer (John Cleese) who gifts her a little, red puppy, she never anticipated waking up to find a giant ten-foot hound in her small New York City apartment. While her single mom (Sienna Guillory) is away for business, Emily and her fun but impulsive uncle Casey (Jack Whitehall) set out on an adventure that will keep you on the edge-of-your-seat as our heroes take a bite out of the Big Apple. Based on the beloved Scholastic book character, Clifford will teach the world how to love big!
Clifford the Big Red Dog will do well in a few weeks. This is due to the fact that it has the ability to reach a variety of generations. With the holidays closely approaching, it’s a great way to start getting everyone together.
