Dangerous Trailer Has Scott Eastwood on the Run in Action Thriller

Scott Eastwood in Dangerous

For many years, Scott Eastwood is on the edge of breaking out in his own leading role rather than supporting roles in blockbusters. Perhaps the new action thriller Dangerous is the ticket for Eastwood to be action leading man in future movies to come.

The film has an all-star cast that includes Tyrese Gibson (Fast & Furious franchise, Ride Along 2), Kevin Durand (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, I Am Number Four, Robin Hood), Famke Janssen (X-Men franchise, How to Get Away with Murder), and Mel Gibson (Braveheart, Lethal Weapon). David Hackl directed the movie from a script written by Christopher Borrelli.

Eastwood (Wrath of Man, Pacific Rim: Uprising, The Fate of the Furious) stars as ex-con and reformed sociopath Dylan Forrester, who is trying to quietly serve out his parole – with the help of a steady supply of antidepressants and his eccentric psychiatrist (Mel Gibson). But when his brother dies under mysterious circumstances, Dylan breaks parole and, with a dogged FBI agent (Famke Janssen) on his trail, goes to uncover the truth. A band of heavily armed mercenaries wants something Dylan’s brother was hiding, and Dylan will need all his guile and tactical skills to survive this action-packed thriller.

Eastwood is on the edge of breaking out to be a leading man in films—hopefully, following the footsteps of his father Clint Eastwood. Although he had great supporting roles like Edwards in Suicide Squad, Little Nobody in The Fate of the Furious, and Nate Lambert in Pacific Rim: Uprising—it doesn’t seem many studios want to put him in the lead role. Of course, he was the lead in the romance film The Longest Ride, but we’re not counting that film under his action resume.

Nonetheless, this film is pumped full of action and adrenaline with an all-star cast. Hopefully, it’ll spark some conversation.

Dangerous is in theaters and On Demand on Friday, November 5.
