In the long-awaited and upcoming Flash movie, we may just get a big-screen version of what happened on the CW Network. Which was a gathering of many DC superheroes from different universes. With talk of Michael Keaton returning to reprise his role as the big-screen’s first Batman, Brandon Routh who played Superman in the 2006 film Superman Returns.was recently asked about the possibility of his Superman appearing in the Flash film.
You can check out what Routh had to say while speaking with The Geek House Show below.
“It worked very well with Crisis on Infinite Earths, and I was extremely proud and honored to be a part of it and to reprise Superman, so it’s absolutely a possibility. I mean, you can do anything with Superman. You know everybody lives and dies all the time [in the comics].”
The biggest problem I had with Superman Returns, and I know it’s not the best reason, was the suit. It just looked like it could have been worn on Adam West’s Batman. I just couldn’t get around it. The film itself was, ok I guess. Having said that, I would gladly welcome Routh’s Superman into a big-screen Crisis On Infinite Earth’s situation.
The Flash movie has been gestating for some time now. Hopefully, following suit with Matt Reeves’ The Batman, which spent years getting the point of Reeves taking over and moving forward, will be worth the wait. And it was well worth the wait. If DC handles this correctly it would b amazing and lead to several new franchises.
