Skyward 3 is coming…

What have you been doing with your past three months? I’m sure whatever it’s been, you haven’t been as productive as author Brandon Sanderson. Sorry to break it to you. But you aren’t alone. The dude wrapped up the 1,200-page Rhythm of War and is also finished draft two of the 40,000-word Dawnshard novella. He’s pretty much a story-making machine, so don’t take it too hard. It makes sense he’d already be moving on to his next project.

Up next on Sanderson’s docket? Another Skyward book. This will be the third in the Skyward series, and what will ultimately be a quartet of books. He’s had to put this one on the back-burner for a bit as he ran through Rhythm of War, which means an extra year or so of waiting for his fans and the publisher.

If you can believe it, Skyward 3 will likely only keep him occupied until January of next year. After work is done on Skyward 3, he plans to shift over the Wax and Wayne 4, the fourth book in the second era of the Mistborn saga. From there, he will round out Skyward 4 around this time next year.

In short, Sanderson will continue to be more productive than any of us for the foreseeable future. On the plus side, he’s touching on three separate series in the next year or so. So if you’re not a fan of all of his series, then you’ll at least have three separate series to pick from in the years to come.
