BREAKING: Deadpool 2 Finally Has Its Domino

Deadpool 2 has faced a myriad of speculation in regards to its casting. With most comic book movies, we’re often left wondering which characters will be present in the first place, so that’s often where our speculation ends. However, with Deadpool 2, there are two characters we knew for a fact would be around apart from the Merc with a Mouth himself: Cable and Domino.

Between Stephen Lang, Dolph Lundgren, Kyle Chandler, and David Harbour, fans have no shortage of potential actors to take on Cable. Similarly, the casting of Domino has also faced some false reports — most recently Janelle Monaé.

Well, after months of waiting and speculation, the gleeful troll on Twitter known as Ryan Reynolds (he also produces and stars in Deadpool 2) announced via the social media service who will be portraying the pale-skinned mercenary.

If you can’t read that, first of all, you may be color blind, and you should see a doctor.

Secondly, I’ll read it for you: Zazie Beetz.

I know. You’re likely waiting for a wave of recognition to hit you on that one, but don’t be ashamed if it hasn’t. Up until last year, she was acting almost exclusively in short films, and she recently had her big break with shows like Easy and Atlanta. If you haven’t seen those shows, then there’s a good chance you haven’t seen her at all.

This is a double-edged sword. On the plus side, most won’t have to un-see Beetz from a previous role in order to buy her as Domino. The downside to this is that we won’t really be able to speculate too much on how her performance will be. However, this may result in a decent number of fanboys heading to FX to check out Atlanta, in hopes of seeing what kind of acting chops she has. Given how great a job Fox did in casting for Deadpool, we’re confident they made the right choice.

If you’re having a hard time picturing her as the character, Reynolds was also kind enough to share a picture of the actress in costume.

Check it out below!

What do you think of Zazie Beetz taking on the role of Domino? Have you had a chance to check out Atlanta or Easy yet? If so, what do you think of her in it? Let us know your thoughts down below!
