The working title of a mystery MCU series has been revealed and fans are wondering whether this may finally be the Champions series gearing up. The information comes from Murphy’s Multiverse who say,

‘Recently, we reported that Marvel Studios was developing a mysterious streaming project under Veil Productions. With the studio looking to create fewer streaming projects that are heavily tied into the shared MCU narrative, we suggested a few options for the mystery project. Now, new information has surfaced that may help fans crack the code.’

‘Veil Productions has been approved to begin production under the working title of “Slumber Party.” Additional evidence suggests that the studio is keeping its options open to develop future seasons of the series.’

Now of course, I think it’s clear why fans online think this may be Champions. Whilst it’s hard to say what live-action Marvel show will come next, we’ve heard a few are in development. One of which that seems to come and go is Champions, which used to be called Young Avengers.

Champions has been in development for some time, I mean think how many potential members have been teased over the years and rarely seen again. Yet, some of the MCU stingers of the past may well never be fulfilled. In other words, whilst we know Champions was in development, we have no idea if that has made it into the greenlight territory which a working title would indicate.

As for why fans think this, if you don’t already see it, a slumber party is synonymous with youth and whilst these youngsters are all full adults now, thematically we can get the idea. That being said, as we have learned so many times in the past, working titles are not always so easy to identify. Some times we never find out why they were named as such.

If as some speculation/rumors see to indicate, that some of these characters play a key part in Secret Wars, then it would be a smart move to follow that film with a Champions series.
