After making an impact on the big screen with the “Merc with a Mouth”, Brianna Hildebrand will be teaming up with a wrestling superstar.
Hildebrand, known for her role as Negasonic Teenage Warhead opposite Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool and for her dramatic turn alongside John Cho in season 2 of Fox’s The Exorcist, will be joining WWE Superstar John Cena (Blockers, Ferdinand) in the family comedy Playing With Fire. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film follows a crew of wildfire fighters that watch over three rambunctious teens they rescued over Christmas weekend. Hildebrand will play the oldest of the rescued orphans.

Playing With Fire is directed by Andy Fickman, who directed Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 and Race To Witch Mountain, which also starred a WWE legend, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Matt Lieberman, the writer behind Netflix’s successful holiday film The Christmas Chronicles, developed the script. Todd Garner and Sean Robins of Broken Road Productions will be producing the film.
This role will be a bit of a change for Hildebrand, since her previous works have been of a more mature or very R-rated nature. If anything, Hildebrand has proven she can play both vulgar comedy and emotional drama, so playing in a family comedy should be no issue at all for this very talented young actress.
Playing With Fire is currently set to be released sometime this year.
