When Brooklyn Nine-Nine was initially canceled over at FOX for a solid 24 hours, tears were shed all over the world. This was a comedy series that had garnered a loyal fanbase who celebrated the show for its low-key diversity and lovable characters. However, when it was saved by NBC, as great as it was, many were still disappointed to hear that its sixth season would run only 13 episodes, as opposed to the normal 20-plus.
Well, don’t you worry your pretty little heads, because the show will be having more episodes in Season 6 than initially planned. The network announced Friday that they will be adding five episodes to the already-planned 13-episode order, meaning that it will end its 2018 to 2019 season with 18 episodes total.

Sure, that’s not quite the 20-plus we’re used to, but it’s a welcome step in the right direction. Now, it’ll fans’ responsibilities to actually watch the show and prove to NBC that it’s worth a standard-length season. Do that, and perhaps its seventh season will be up to snuff in terms of episode length.
