According to the latest rumors, one of the movies to lose out in the DCU restructure was a now cancelled Michael Keaton movie. Now we hear that Keaton movie is rumored to have been Batman Beyond. Insider Jeff Sneider spoke online recently about hearing a Batman movie was cancelled and now The Wrap‘s Umberto Gonzalez claims it was actually Batman Beyond. check it out.

Of course the suggestion of Batman Beyond being cancelled won’t go down that well sight a lot of fans. When Keaton was first announced as being back, there were many fans clamoring for a Batman Beyond movie. Obviously, with the idea being Keaton as the mentor figure here.

As you can see above the rumor is that the movie was being penned by Christina Hodson and was to star Keaton. However until we hear something official from DC, for me it’s all up in the air. As always, take any rumors with a pinch of salt for now. If I ere to give my opinion, I’m not sure now was the right time for this story. Should that not come later, after we’eve established Batman in his prime for a while first? I get that this was being achieved through using Keaton’s elder and more experienced Batman. However perhaps it just didn’t work with that Saffran and Gunn have planned?

My plan is, wait and see what Gunn and Saffran come up with and then judge them from there. The DCU needs to arise from the ashes of the failed DCEU, and I hope it does. Though, one day, I wouldn’t mind seeing a Batman Beyond movie.

What do you think of this Barside Buzz that a cancelled Michael Keaton Batman movie is rumored to have been Batman Beyond? Thoughts below as always.
