Candy Teaser Trailer and First Look Photo Reveal Nearly Unrecognizable Jessica Biel

Melanie Lynskey and Jessica Biel in Candy

Jessica Biel, the darling from the television series 7th Heaven, kept up with her work with a few films and television series over the years. In this new Hulu series Candy, many people will make a doubletake towards her look and presence as she portrays the real-life murderer Candy Montgomery.

The series also stars Timothy Simons, Melanie Lynskey, Pablo Schreiber, and Raul Esparza.

Here is the official synopsis:

Candy Montgomery is a 1980 housewife and mother who did everything right—good husband, two kids, nice house, even the careful planning and execution of transgressions—but when the pressure on conformity builds within her, her actions scream for just a bit of freedom. With deadly results.

Three-time Emmy nominee Robin Veith (Mad Men, The Act) wrote the pilot script.

Hulu has been going on with plenty of true-story series that included Dopesick and the current series The Dropout. The competition from streaming services for these types of series proves there are strong audiences for these types of stories. Of course, Candy seems to be darker of the bunch and it will draw plenty of fans who love true crime stories.

One of the biggest transformations will be with Jessica Biel being in that 1980s hairstyle and clothing. It’ll be interesting to see Jessica Biel in a far different type of role she usually plays in the past.

Candy premieres on Hulu on Monday, May 9, for a five-part series with new episodes nightly until the finale on Friday, May 13.
