Captain America: Brave New World CinemaCon Footage Description

We have new looks for Captain America and Falcon spotted on some official Brave New World merchandise to take a look at.

As with the Deadpool & Wolverine article previously published, here is the Captain America: Brave New World CinemaCon footage descriptions. Brave New World is not coming till 2025 and has some reshoots to film. However a lot of that movie was actually shot prior to or around the same time as Deadpool & Wolverine. Hence why audiences at CinemaCon were able to see footage of a movie that isn’t out for another year.

The following descriptions all come from the coverage by DiscussingFilm.

‘CinemaCon got to see the very first footage from Captain America: Brave New World. The clip that Disney showed CinemaCon attendees follows Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) meeting Thunderbolt Ross (Harrison Ford), who is now the president, at the White House. Ross is asking to meet with Wilson so he can reunite the Avengers with a new Captain America at the forefront. He’s looking to unite forces, but he might have some ulterior motives unknown to everyone else. During a meeting where Ross is presenting this plan to a crowd, with Sam in attendance, a mysterious villain takes over the speakers and controls the minds of secret service agents and Isaiah Bradley (Carl Lumbly), whom Sam struggles to pin down in a fight.’

‘Full chaos ensues which leads us to a montage of the different action set pieces of the film. We see Sam getting attacked at the White House, using his shield to block himself from multiple Secret Service agents trying to tase him. We see shots of Sam Wilson and Joaquín Torres in action together. Everything builds up to a tense confrontation between Sam and Thunderbolt Ross inside the Oval Office. Ross tells him, “You’re not Steve Rogers.” After a long pause, Sam says, “You’re right, I’m not.” Finally, we see Sam suit up in the new Captain America suit. The new suit is described as more silver and blue than blue and white.’

We also have some words from star Anthony Mackie as per his chat with EW. You can also see the first official image from EW on social media below.

“It made more sense for it to be more of a grounded espionage action movie as opposed to aliens and airplanes coming through portals and sh*t,” Mackie tells EW. “Even though I’ve been in so many of them and have seen it all now, the opportunity for Sam to really establish himself as a true action star and Avenger comes with this movie.”

“This movie is a clear reset,” he adds. It really re-establishes the idea of what this universe is and what this universe is going to be. I think with these movies, you’re getting a clear, new branding of what Marvel is headed towards the same way they did with Captain America: The Winter Soldier.”

I guess we will find out next year?

What do you think of the Captain America: Brave New World CinemaCon footage description, or Mackie’s comments? Thoughts below as always.
