Today on the most recent episode of Los Fanboys, we briefly mentioned the Marvel Cinematic Universe and first films in franchises like Iron Man, Thor, and the like. The big statement one of us made (not sure who) was that we live in a world where we really don’t need a traditional origin story anymore. For all intents and purposes, Doctor Strange kinda feels like the last one where you can get away with a standard origin story.

So where does that leave other superheroes Marvel Studios has yet to introduce in their films like, say, Captain Marvel? If the trailers are any indication, this won’t be your typical origin story, as it seems to take place well into when Carol Danvers has her abilities, though it does seem to be flashing back to earlier points in her life. But what else does the movie have to offer?

For comic book fans, it’s the eternal struggle between the alien races the Kree and the Skrulls. In the latest featurette for Captain Marvel, they highlight that very conflict. In it, we see that in the film, Carol has already embraced her identity as a Kree, and that she herself is embroiled in the conflict. How that will play out in the movie…we’ll have to wait and see.

What do you think of this latest featurette? Are you excited to see this conflict finally make it to the big screen? Let us know your thoughts down below!
