Let’s pour one out for Captain America. That’s right, like it or not, Chris Evans is headed out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and that means Steve Rogers himself is on his way out. Whether or not that means the dude is dying is a question for another day, but regardless, there will be a void at the top of the Avengers roster to be filled.

Marvel Studios is wasting no time. Ahead of Cap’s last appearance in Avengers: Endgame, we are getting Captain Marvel, which will introduce audiences to Carol Danvers, played by Brie Larson. Up until now, the studio hasn’t really played up the idea of replacing Cap, but in this new trailer, they kinda do just that by saying, “A new captain arrives.”

This TV spot also continues Marvel Studios finally playing up Carol’s arrogant personality. In those first two trailers, we didn’t see much of her talking, let alone emoting, but now they seem to be going full-force, showing her cockier side, which I enjoy. I just hope that when we see her in context of the film that it doesn’t give me the same kind of hollow feeling these trailers are giving me.

In Marvel we trust, in Marvel we trust, in Marvel we trust…
