Castlevania Season 2 Trailer: Dracula Seeks To Create A World Without Humans

Last year, audiences were treated to the surprise, short season of Castlevania. It was an anime-inspired take on the video game source material, but sadly, it only lasted four 20-minute episode, leaving a whole lot to be desired in terms of overall content. Luckily, this time around, we’ll be getting eight full episodes to whet our whistle — eight episodes of gory animated goodness.

The first season saw one vengeful Dracula attempt to seek revenge for the injustice against his wife, who was burned at the stake. Though his plight was sympathetic, his overall desire to destroy even the innocent definitely crossed the line. Trevor Belmont was tasked with the job of defending Wallachia from Dracula and his minions.

By the end of that first season, they had ultimately succeeded, but that wouldn’t be the end of their struggles, as Dracula would not quit. Luckily, they awakened the body of Alucard, who is sympathetic to the situations the mortals find themselves in. This next season picks up where that one left off, and in a new trailer from Netflix, it looks to be just as bloody as the first one.

Thankfully, the animation continues to look pretty darn strong, and the overall scope looks to expand. Here’s hoping we’ll also get some more character development this time around.
