Castlevania may be a dark show, but its future on Netflix seems pretty bright. Just a few days after the entirety of its eight-episode season landed on Netflix, Deadline is reporting that a third has been ordered from the streaming giant. What’s more, it will ordering a 10-episode season. This is a step up from last season, which in and of itself was a substantial step up from the first season’s four episodes.
Honestly, I’m a bit confused by this report from the outlet, as I thought we first heard this news way back in June. That being said, I supposed the number of episodes is new, so there’s that.
Based on the long-running Konami video game franchise — which spans countless amazing side-scrolling games and a handful of underwhelming 3D games — this show is written by comic book writer Warren Ellis and directed by Sam Deats. Ellis, Kevin Kolde, Adi Shankar and Fred Seibert are executive producers.
The show follows Trevor Belmont (video game fans will recognize that last name), who is on a mission to save humanity from extinction from the vampire Dracula, who was kinda screwed over when the love of his life was burned at the stake. With his band of misfits, including the son of Dracula himself, Trevor is set to take down the vampire and save the world.
