CBS Developing A Series Based On DC’s Secret Six

Although it’s been a very rough few years for DC Comics’ characters on film, the same cannot be said about it’s television shows. Currently there are 5 shows on The CW that feature DC characters. Fox is currently in production of it’s last season of Gotham as well as Syfy working on the second season of Krypton.

One of those 5 shows currently on The CW is Supergirl which originally aired on CBS. Now Variety has learned that CBS will once again develop another series based on DC characters, in this case the Secret Six. The project has received a pilot production commitment by the network.

The Secret Six are a group of morally ambiguous strangers with specific talents and specialties with secret pasts. They are blackmailed and brought together by an enigmatic person to work together to expose the corruption of the corporate and political elite. The team has been composed of several different characters in the past including Bane, Harley Quinn, Lex Luthor, the Mad Hatter, and the Penguin to name a few. No word yet on which characters the writers have chosen to work with.

Speaking of writers the series will be written by Rick Muirragui. He will also serve as executive producer with Bill Lawrence and Jeff Ingold via Doozer Productions. The series will be produced by Warner Bros. Television.
