One wonder if Star Wars will ever stop being altered. Creator George Lucas has certainly done his fair share, and as bad of a rap as he gets for doing it, some of the changes were actually good ones. Now that Disney has ownership of the franchise, they seem to be prone to tinkering with the old films as well.
The Disney+ version of A New Hope has some special FX changes, that appear to be improvements. The no iconic lightsaber duel between former BFFs Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader has had some touch-ups. Mostly, the changes are when their lightsabers clash, creating a sort of mist or dust effect, along with keeping Kenobi’s lightsaber a consistent blue throughout the duel, which before it seemed to change colors.

These are the sort of changes/improvements I can get behind, and I imagine most fans can as well. This duel is iconic, sure the choreography isn’t the best, but the dialogue is top-notch, and some of the best in the saga in my opinion. There are some fanmade changes to the duel that vastly improve the choreography of the duel, and I think Disney should at least consider using them, in a special version.
