Actress and co-star of Iron Fist Jessica Henwick says Charlie Cox aware of MCU return years ago. Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, you probably know Cox did appear as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home and his nemesis Kingpin returned to Marvel in the Season finale of Hawkeye. Both actors and their respective character are rumored to appear ion the Echo spin-off show. However there is also a rumored Daredevil project of some kind on the horizon.
For years after the cancellation of Daredevil at Netflix there had been rumors both Cox and D’Onofrio would return to the MCU. After that exclusivity period wore off, Marvel Studios brought both back fairly promptly. It felt like a nod to let everyone know they are coming back bigger in the future. Henwick recently spoke with THR and asked why she turned down the chance to appear in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
“If I did [Shang-Chi], I would effectively be putting Colleen to bed. It wasn’t the main factor, but it definitely came up in conversation,” Henwick tells The Hollywood Reporter. “I love Colleen. She changed my life. Of course, if I was given the opportunity to revisit her, I would, but I just don’t know how likely that is. Charlie [Cox] knew about that opportunity years ago. He already knew it was happening. I think I would have heard by now if there were any plans with Colleen.”

My own thought process would be that if Marvel wanted Colleen back, they wouldn’t have asked Henwick to make Shang-Chi? However maybe Henwick is right to play the waiting game? The problem may be that Cox’s Daredevil show was far more popular than Henwick’s Iron Fist. Frankly the quality difference between the two was night and day. I’m not sure of the Netflix version of Iron Fist will ever come back, but perhaps Colleen Wing could? I guess we will find out in time?
