Star Wars: Check Out The Colin Trevorrow-Created TIE Maruader

Somewhere among the many alternate universes, exists one where Colin Trevorrow stuck around to direct Star Wars: Episode IX. Unfortunately, none of us in this universe will ever be able to watch that film. A film that we now know was to be called “Duel of the Fates.”

What we can take a look at is a new Star Wars ship that was designed by Trevorrow and his son. Thanks to a Comic-Con @ Home panel called “Directors on Directing,” we get to see what would have been known as a TIE Marauder. You can check it out here. Below you can read what Trevorrow had to say about the ship.

“So this is one of the – my son and I designed a ship, I have two ships. One of them is at the theme park at Disneyland. This is the other one, and it only exists in this 3D model. It’s called a TIE Marauder, and for Christmas the guys painted it for me – I only had this in a 3D model. Now this is the only one in the world, and it’s an amazing memory for me when I got to do something that was an incredible experience from start to finish that I was able to make a Star Wars ship with my son.”

I have to say it’s a pretty nifty looking ship he has there, and I can’t help but think how awesome it would have been to see it on screen. Trevorrow also mentioned another ship he designed that resides within the Galaxy’s Edge part of the Disney theme parks.

From what I’ve read of and seen of Trevorrow’s script, I do think I would have enjoyed it more than I did Rise of Skywalker. I mean it wasn’t terrible, but I feel fans deserved a better ending to one of cinema’s most beloved stories. And while I can’t be sure Trevorrow could have delivered on that any better than J.J. Abrams, I sure would have liked to see him try.
