Everyone in my generation of film lovers remembers Chucky. I mean, dolls have always been incredibly horrifying things, and the Child’s Play movies helped to capitalize on that very idea. It was a brilliant idea that was bound to get remade at some point, and this coming June, we’ll be seeing that remake come to fruition. But, of course, this is a concept that can only happen with the help of some very key players: namely the creators of the doll themselves.

In a new behind-the-scenes featurette from Orion Pictures, we have a chance to see some of the hard work that goes into bringing this brand-new take on the Chucky doll to life. As mentioned in the featurette itself, this was not something they decided to keep restricted to CG, but rather rely on the old-school tech of animatronic.

But, of course, part of the appeal of Chucky is also the voice, which, in this case is brought to life by the legendary Mark Hamill.

In the above TV spot, we get to hear Hamill’s voice acting in the works. If you’ve been hungry to see Hamill’s next foray into the world of vocal performance, you can do worse than what’s shown off in the “Best Buddy” TV spot.
