Chris Daughtry Draws Variant Cover for an Upcoming Spider-Man Title

Many of you may not be aware but rock star Chris Daughtry is a big comic book fan. Not only that he is a self-taught comic artist whose work has been displayed before at a gallery during San Diego Comic Con. We know he is friends with current DC co-publisher and CCO Jim Lee and I have met Chris at a previous SDCC while he is hanging out at the DC booth. Clearly, he loves comic books and super heroes having done a cover for Batman as well as for Rob Liefeld’s Youngblood.

Now his artwork will be gracing the cover of a new book coming out from Marvel. You can see the full press release below. As many working in the industry know, we could really use an influx of new readers to energize and help promote the medium of comics. So, when a popular person from another field, whether that be an actor, a musician, an athlete or whomever, does something like this I feel it is a huge step in the right direction of bringing positive attention to the wonderful world of comics. Here’s to hoping we see more of Chris Daughtry’s comic artwork in the future. See the full press release below.
