Today’s Barside Buzz says that Chris Evans has agreed to come back for Secret Wars, Blade is in Deadpool 3 and Vulture returns in Spider-Man 4. Let’s start with Evans return as that’s been a big talking point recently. Variety‘s recent report, which we’re not sure is accurate, says Marvel wants RDJ, Evans and ScarJo back. We then shared a rumor that RDJ had already agreed to return. Now the same source says Evans has also agreed to come back as Steve Rogers in Secret Wars.

I kinda hope this isn’t true. I’ve always said Evans should only come back many years later in an old man Cap story. I think bringing back both Evans and RDJ in Secret Wars is a mistake. I’m all for a Multiversal version of Iron Man showing up, but don’t think Steve should. Still, chances are no one cares what I think at Marvel.
Second up today are rumors From Daniel RPK on his Patreon. The first of which is about Blade, the character, not the movie.
According to the leaker. Blade will appear in Deadpool 3. However, he cannot yet say whether this is Mahershala Ali, or Wesley Snipes. Given we need to get Ali on screen sooner than later, I hope it’s the new version of Blade. Yet, it seems more likely to me that in Deadpool, they’d go for Snipes for the fun factor. I guess it all depends how it plays out and perhaps introducing a dark serious version of Blade in Deadpool 3 isn’t the right call?

The second rumor from RPK is that Michael Keaton’s Vulture will return in Spider-Man 4. As of now, Spider-Man 4 isn’t actually official, but we all know it’s happening. Where this gets a bit weird, is when you factor in Morbius. If you remember, in Morbius the MCU version of Vulture (somehow) showed up in Morbius’ universe and then inexplicably met him in a field to talk about Spider-Man. The scene made no sense, why would Vulture or Morbius care about Spider-Man? Toomes didn’t hate Peter for what happened at the end of Homecoming and kept his identity from Mac Gargan.
So is the MCU just going to retcon the trash that was Morbius? I mean, if possible, I vote for this option. Then let’s start buying up all the DVD’s from the dollar bin and pretend Morbius just didn’t happen. It’s interesting if true though.
Remember these are all unsubstantiated rumors folks, so always take a pinch of salt when consuming the Barside Buzz.
