It’s tough for the directors of Avengers: Endgame to keep everything secret in this digital age. Sites like our own are looking at every interview, every leaked set-photo and putting it all together to make some reasonably accurate predictions, we think anyway? One of the potential biggest secrets of Endgame is whether there will be any deaths in the movie. No one other than those involved with making the movie can answer that, however, it has long been rumored that Endgame could be Chris Evans last Marvel movie as Captain America.

Evans made quite an emotional farewell to the crew after he wrapped on Endgame and whilst he says that was just for the end of that movie, most fans believe Cap will not survive the film. Here is that statement again to jog your memory.

“Officially wrapped on Avengers 4. It was an emotional day to say the least. Playing the role over the last 8 years has been an honor. To everyone in front of the camera, behind the camera, and in the audience, thank you for the memories! Eternally grateful.”

THR caught up with Evans to ask him a ton of questions about his role and his ambitions going forward. Evans was quick to point out that just because he said he’d like to direct, doesn’t mean he is quitting acting.

“I never said the word ‘retire.’ It’s a really obnoxious notion for an actor to say they’re going to retire — it’s not something you retire from.”

Evans also talked about being surprised they managed to cut a trailer without showing any spoilers for Endgame.

“I can’t believe they even cut together a trailer because so much of it is a visual spoiler. You’ll see. A lot of the character have —,” he stops to cover his mouth, adding, “Probably shouldn’t have even said that.” 

Evans then went on to inform the outlet that he had already got props for the shield and his cowl home as keepsakes, but that now he wants the full suit.

“I’m going to ask for the full suit, I never asked for the full suit. [Chris] Hemsworth got the full suit. I want the full suit.”

I don’t know about you, but whenever Evans talks I get the feeling, maybe as an undercurrent that this is his last gig as Captain America? If Cap doesn’t make it through this movie, then whilst it might not be the biggest surprise, it will still be damn emotional and leave a lasting impression on the MCU.
