Chris Hemsworth is happy to keep playing Thor as long as he’s asked. The MCU star appeared on an episode of The Today Show in Australia. The interviewer asked Hemsworth that since Tom Holland is getting more Spider-Man films, will we get more Thor movies?
“How many Spider-Mans has he done? He’s a little behind me. I think he’s done three. I’ve done six or seven Thors, so maybe. As long as they’ll have me, I’ll turn up, but I feel like that enthusiasm [for me] might be waning.”
Hemsworth is then reassured by the studio hosts that everyone loves him and wants him to keep playing Thor.
After thanking his Australian fan club Hemsworth said:
“Internationally, they may be going, ‘Get rid of him! Get someone else!'”

I’m not sure if Hemsworth really believes that or not? Maybe the actor is just waiting to see of Disney will offer him better terms on future movies before he signs up? We do still have Thor: Love and Thunder coming up, but where does the story of Thor go after that? I don’t think we can say until we see Love and Thunder. Though in terms of the comics and the timeline, Thor is able to go on for a long time. You get the feeling that when Hemsworth is finally done with the role for good Marvel will need to write him out. Otherwise, you’d always be wondering where he was during any serious Universal threats?
That could mean killing him off, or it could mean he goes somewhere to retire. Whenever Hemsworth does leave, I’d love to see him come back in 15 years time, maybe more as an older and more Odin like character. Whether that’s something Hemsworth himself fancies though, who knows? I certainly hope we get a few more Thor appearances yet.
Chris Hemsworth is happy to keep playing Thor as long as he’s asked. Do you want to see Hemsworth stick around as Thor, or is it time to get rid of him as the actor perhaps fears fans think? As always, leave any thoughts below.
