Hopefully you’re getting your fill of Chris Hemsworth, because it sounds like there may be a bit of a drought in the coming years.

Speaking to The Times (via ComicBook.com), the Australian actor expressed his desire to take some time off in the near future to focus on his family.

“I want to be able to take the kids to school. I may even be off all year. Maybe…It all happened at once and I’ve thought about it and gone, ‘God, am I trying to do too much at once?’ There’s no regret by any means. It just comes out of wanting to be [at home] more. I want to be there more. My wife and I were talking the other day about how the years are flying by: our daughter [India Rose] is five and a half and the boys [twins called Tristan and Sasha] are three and a half. And however much time you do have together, it never seems like enough. It’s always exhausting, even when we have help with grandparents or a nanny.”

With that in mind, it wouldn’t be a big surprise if he spends some time away from cameras to be more present with his kids and wife. Though while we may be seeing a bit less of him, I don’t think he’ll disappear altogether. After all, this year will see the release of Avengers: Infinity War, and next year, he’ll be present and accounted for in Avengers 4. By the time 2019 is up, he may be back on the set of some other movie and ready by 2020.

The acting life ain’t an easy life, and it makes sense why, unlike other professions, actors need to take breaks every so often to sort through their personal affairs. In the long run, it’s probably a great move. Hemsworth is quite the talent, and the last thing we’d want is for him to burn out and ultimately fizzle in Hollywood.
