The most recent news regarding Thor: Love and Thunder was the announcement of its delay. Thor: Love and Thunder slipped from November 2021 to February 2022. Of course, this delay was due to the Coronavirus lockdown, where every MCU movie moved one place down the line.
This delay certainly gives writer/director Taki Waititi more script development time than he previously had. Waititi is currently working through his 7th or 8th draft of the script. However, according to star Chris Hemsworth, the script is already in a pretty good place.
Yesterday Hemsworth appeared through the Zoom App on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Hemsworth was really on the show to promote his new Netflix movie Extraction. However, eventually, talk turns to Marvel, and Hemsworth praises Taiki Waititi’s script for Thor: Love and Thunder. You can catch the video in the source section below.
“It’s one of the best scripts I’ve read in years. It’s Taika at his most extreme, and at his best. If the version I read is the one we get running with, it’s going to be pretty insane.”

Honestly, with how hot Waititi is right now, this does not surprise me. I couldn’t be happier as a fan that we are getting not just more Thor, but more Waititi Thor. The script may be in good place but we already know what Marvel boss Kevin Feige’s thoughts will be. How can we make this even better? Waititi was working on the script of Thor: Ragnarok right through filming, so I expect something similar to happen with Love and Thunder.
Frankly, I hope there is a fifth Thor movie from Waititi and Hemsworth because this feels like Thor just getting started. Let’s hope Thor: Love and Thunder is as awesome as Hemsworth thinks it could be. After that, I guess we can worry about whether we’ll ever get to see a Thor 5. For now, I just want to see this insane script for Thor: Love and Thunder.
