These days there are many roles out there for actors to play. Imaginative digital artists create their own renditions of actors in dream roles. Years ago, people relied on Wizard magazine to dream cast actors into superhero roles. But times have changed for the good. Now you say it and moments later an artist whips together Chris Hemsworth as James Bond. To up the ante, we have Avengers: Endgame’s Chris Hemsworth divulging that “yes” he is open to putting on the tuxedo. Hemsworth goes further to say which actor has to caliber to play 007.

“My vote would be Idris [Elba],” he told Variety. “I think he’d give it a different sort of swagger, too, and each time someone new comes into the role, I think you’ve got to offer up something different.”

Not surprising and yet still surprising. Elba has a groundswell of supporters that want him riding cockpit of the Aston Martin and downing martinis. Even back in 2018, there was a rumor ran that Training Day director Antione Fuqua had talks with James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli regarding Idris Elba’s potential future in the franchise. Though the rumor was quickly put to rest there is an undeniable level of support to see Elba in the iconic role of 007.

My opinion is to do it if it adds to the series. But that’s my opinion on all productions. If adding Elba into the mix of bad boys means we get a fresh and amazing take on 007 then I am all for it. A plus is Elba would also get to use his native accent. What do you think of Hemsworth’s comments?
