Jurassic World has done pretty well for itself. It’s a franchise that everyone continuously s**ts on and yet it still makes a crap ton of money. Then again, I guess that’s basically every major franchise these days, am I right? You’re not really doing it right if your fan base isn’t complaining on a daily basis. And now comes the part where I complain about the franchise for a bit.
Jurassic World, I felt, was a heck of a lot of fun. It helped bring in the spirit of the original Jurassic Park movie, even if it didn’t quite measure up to it. It delivered on fun spectacle and little else — but that’s okay. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, for me, didn’t succeed on that level. Sure, there were a couple of great moments (the moment where the dinosaurs are left to die on the island is heartbreaking), but it didn’t work much for me as a story. Once we got into human clones, I kinda checked out.
Regardless of any foibles I had, this third film is going to be big. It’s not only going to be a film that wraps up this trilogy, but wraps up the entire “saga,” so to speak. And, from the sound of it, they are taking this job very seriously.

“I’m not allowed to say anything… It’s got everybody,” Chris Pratt told Ellen Degeneres. “It’s got pretty much everybody in it. Maybe I just blew it, but I don’t care. All the cast from the original Jurassic Park is coming back. It’s going to feel very much like how Endgame brought everything together for Marvel.”
But don’t get too excited yet. The movie is still a long ways away and has a June 11, 2021 release date. As far as production goes, it’s happening very soon.
“I leave tomorrow and I’ll be shooting for a long time. The script is unbelievable. Colin Trevorrow, who wrote and directed Jurassic World is coming back to do this one. I can’t wait… I will shoot on and off until July. It’s a big one. It’s about close to 100 shoot days. It’s a massive movie. It’s a big movie. We’ll be all over the world. The story is really, really engaging. Really cool. It’s gonna be big.”
Big is certainly the word I’ve also heard from behind the scenes. While I don’t know any specific details, the idea of ambition and scale are some of what I’ve heard from those working on the project. Given that Pratt revealed the entire Jurassic Park cast will be returning, it really does feel like they’re pulling out all the stops.
That being said, as was proven in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, bringing back everyone for a film doesn’t necessarily equate to a good movie. But I have high hopes for Jurassic World 3. How do you feel about everyone returning for this film? Let us know your thoughts down below!
