RUMOR – Sony Wants Jake Gyllenhaal Back For Mysterio Solo Film

Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio in Spider-Man: Far From Home was a villain many fans wish would have stuck around for another film or two. Well, according to The Illuminerdi, fans might get just that. The newest rumor is that Sony wants Gyllenhaal to return for a solo film with the character.

If you’ve seen the Far From Home then you know Mysterio, at least as far as we know, died at the end of the film. OF course, this guy is a master of illusion and deception, so it probably wouldn’t be extremely difficult to find a way to bring the character back.

I always have to feel for the villains without superpowers that rely on tech and their intelligence. I enjoyed Gyllenhaal in the role and would be happy to hear he is returning for more Mysterio mischief. As with all information of this type, a grain of salt and all that.

Sony has a couple of projects in the works already, including Morbius: The Living Vampire, and a sequel to 2018’s Venom.
